Event Details

The voices of real people speaking about child sexual abuse. Stories of child sexual abuse survivors and those who help them.

There will be an early show (4pm) and an evening show (7pm). 

*Performance not recommended for children under 12 years old. 


This is a 40-minute production produced by KHCC and Ping Chong + Company. It will be directed by Jesca Prudencio (PCC), and written by Jesca Prudencio and Ireen Ninonuevo (KHCC), in collaboration with Sara Zatz (PCC). Therapists from KHCC will share their own stories, as well as give voice to the experiences of child survivors who have gone through KHCC’s child sexual abuse prevention and treatment program. This production is part of Ping Chong + Company's Secret Survivors National Initiative.

The Changing Futures Program at Kingsbridge Heights Community Center participated in Ping Chong + Company's Summer Training Institute, an intensive week-long workshop exploring the innovative community-based performance and documentary theater practices behind Ping Chong's award-winning Undesirable Elements series. 
Ping Chong + Company produces theatrical works addressing the important cultural and civic issues of our times, striving to reach the widest audiences with the greatest level of artistic innovation and social integrity. The company was founded in 1975 by leading theatrical innovator Ping Chong with a mission to create works of theater and art that explore the intersections of race, culture, history, art, media and technology in the modern world.

Kingsbridge Heights Community Center (KHCC) was founded in a former police station in 1974 by three community activists: Janet Athanasidy, Patricia Burns, and Mary McLoughlin. Today, KHCC offers programs and services in multiple sites for more than 8,000 people annually across the Bronx. Guided by the Settlement House model of community development and involvement, KHCC is a member of United Neighborhood Houses of New York City. KHCC's mission is to build on the strengths of residents in our diverse community, enabling them to effect change and improve quality of life for themselves, their families, and Bronx residents overall.
