Lincoln Highway Adventure 2011

The Lincoln Highway Adventure 2011 invites your exploration of Indiana’s segment of the Lincoln Highway – America’s first transcontinental highway. The event kicks off in downtown South Bend with a vintage car First Friday Cruise-In on Friday evening August 5th. On Saturday the Adventure launches from South Bend with stops in New Carlisle, LaPorte, Valparaiso, and Dyer following the 1913 route returning then to Plymouth via the 1928 way. Adventurers will discover scenic historic communities, dozens of historic sites and sections of original road. Individuals and car clubs are being recruited to participate with their vintage vehicles.
Adventurers will get their passports stamped at designated Lincoln Highway Control Stations, explore Geo-Caching sites and answer trivia questions about historic sites Everyone completing the Adventure scavenger hunt will be entered to win prizes.
Each registered car will receive an Adventure Bag filled with discount coupons, a dash plaque and booklet with turn by turn directions and descriptions of the historic sites and communities along the routes.
The First Friday Cruise-In is free to view but if you want to display a vintage car you have to register.
Registration for the Adventure is per-car with no limit or additional charge per person in the car.

Members of Indiana Landmarks, the Indiana Lincoln Highway Association or Studebaker National Museum or anyone driving a vintage car for the Adventure receive a discounted registration ticket.
