As 2016 continues on, we'll be adding more features as they are available, some of which are based on what you can see in the Kickstarter.
Licensing is an annual cost. The prices below reflect the per month pricing of the yearly cost. Here are retail costs for the licenses:
Professional - a named personal license that grants you up to 5 machines for $8/month (about the price of a single lunch outing). Professional is for personal, non-commercial use only. You can use Chocolatey Professional at work provided you are using it for your work station only.
Business Startup - up to 35 machines for $50/month ($600 annual)
Business Small Pack - up to 150 machines per pack - $200/pack/month ($2,400 annual per pack)
Business Medium Pack - up to 500 machines per pack - $650/pack/month ($7,800 annual per pack)
Business Large Pack - up to 2000 machines per pack - $2,500/pack/month ($30,000 annual per pack)
Enterprise - will be available later this year
To help with your purchase decision, we've put together the following cost matrix for Business Editions:
|Business Editions||Cost per license||Licenses||Annual Cost||Cost per month||CPL/month|
|Small - Per Pack||$16.00||150||$2,400||$200||$1.33|
|Medium - Per Pack||$15.60||500||$7,800||$650||$1.30|
|Large - Per Pack||$15.00||2,000||$30,000||$2,500||$1.25|
Please note that pricing could be subject to change.
You may be curious about the "pack" in the subscriptions. It's really to give you better pricing structures when purchasing licensing. If you are a small business with 200 computers, you don't need to purchase a Business Medium license, instead you could purchase two small business packs and that would allow you to go up to 300 machines for $400/mo instead of $650/month. If you are a large business with 2,600 machines, you would purchase 2 large business packs which would allow you to go up to 4,000 machines.
NOTE: Please only reserve a spot if you are serious about making a purchase in the first week of availability. If you will not be able to make a purchase by then, you may forfeit your spot to someone on the waiting list.
NOTE: Once the main site is redesigned, this information will be available there as well.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the refund policy?
First 30 days is full refund minus transaction fees. After that the refund is pro-rated over rest of the year.
What counts as a license?
Every machine with an active license is counted, no matter if it is physical, virtual, in the cloud or in test environments. An organization that needs to temporarily go over a license count while you bring up a server before destroying another does not incur a penalty as long as they are back in limits within 24 hours and the average count of licenses is below the threshhold.
