Who should attend?
People who would like to become licensed to apply glyphosate, insecticides and fungicides with a Caution signal word to ornamental plant beds, including hedges. This training qualifies as the 6 hours of classroom training for the Limited Certification Commercial Landscape Maintenance license. This is also for people who would like to become licensed as Limited Certification Lawn & Ornamental applicators. It also grants 3.0 (2.0) Core plus 3.0 (2.0) Limited Landscape Maintenance/ L & O, Commercial L & O, Private, and O&T CEUs towards license renewal (6.0 [4.0] total CEUs).

Study materials for the exam: From Miami-Dade County Extension: SM 7 - Ornamental & Turf Pest Control (Cost $24.25 including tax) and SM 1 - Applying Pesticides Correctly (Cost $23.00 including tax). These books must be picked up in person and paid for with either a check or a money order payable to: Miami-Dade Extension Program Account. You can also order them from http://ifasbooks.ufl.edu. NOTE: We highly recommend reading the study material before you take the class or exam. You will need to pay $150 each time you take these exams.
What should I bring to the class? You must bring a government-issued photo ID to take the exam. This is a closed book exam. You may take notes during the review, but you cannot use them during the exam. You can bring a No. 2 pencil, but one will be supplied as will a calculator. You must also bring a check for $150.00 made payable to the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (FDACS). If you do not have a completed copy of DACS-13604 [LCLM] or DACS-13610 [LL&O], you will also need a passport-type 1½” x 1½” full face photo. To become licensed [LCLM only], you will need to submit an insurance accord. DACS forms will be provided.
When can I take the written exams? Both exams will be administered at the end of the class. For those needing to take retake an exam, they are administered on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. at the John D. Campbell Ag Center, 18710 SW 288th Street, Homestead. Pesticide Training Class Policy:If you are unable to attend a training class, please call Lize at (305) 248-3311 ext. 242 at least 24 hours in advance. If there is an emergency (death in the family, illness, accident or similar unavoidable conflict) after that point, please call as soon as possible after the class (within a week) and we will transfer your registration to the next identical class or the next class of your choosing. Otherwise, your payment is non-refundable and non-transferable.
