Lightroom seems to become more and more powerful with every passing release, and now can do 90% of what 90% of photographers need to do with their digital images.
In this workshop, we will show you how to import your camera RAW images and organize them into a searchable archive using the Library module; and how to use the Develop module to apply the right adjustments (adjust exposure, color balance, noise, etc) to those images. Nice thing about Lightroom is that it does all this in a non-destructive way - your original raw files are left untouched; all adjustments are separately recorded.
We will demonstrate how to get the best out of your RAW files; images that you may have given up for overexposed (going by the blinking highlight warning on your LCD) will be shown to have lot of useful information in the highlights. In fact, I will often deliberately overexpose a little. So you will learn not only Lightroom in this workshop, but perhaps to get the best exposures out of your digital camera as well!
Requirements: A laptop and power strip as well as any version of Lightroom. If you do not have Lightroom, download the free trial version from the Adobe website THE DAY OF THE WORKSHOP. The trial is only good for 30 days and it needs to be good through the Workshop. Please also bring 2-3 photos on your laptop that you would like to work on but do not import them into Lightroom as we will learn how to do that in class.
