Description

Laguna Woods resident Steve Carman, a retired Space Program Scientist will present an updated version of “The Light of the World” which he gave earlier in 2015.

Before his retirement Mr. Carman trained the first astronauts on Apollo Mission to the Moon, developed medical experiments for Skylab, developed cameras and seismometers for the Viking Mars Lander, and led scientists at JPL in the first exploration of Mars in 1975-76.

Steve will talk about what space exploration has revealed about God, heaven and time. He will present his views of the relationship between Bible and science, and show how the many scriptures about light, from “Let there be light” to the burning bush, to the absence of light at the time of Christ' passion on the cross, give us an idea of how God relates to His physical creation. You will learn how the modern science of light helps unveil the light in many Bible passages, Steve will show how God’s light is evidence of His love and presence with us.

Clubhouse 5, Room 1. Coffee and Light snacks will be provided.
