Life Space Crisis Intervention
This course introduces a child and youth care method for nurturing insight and self-awareness in young people who are stuck in patterns of ineffective behavior. Participants engage in case studies, guided practice, and group discussion about six specific behavioral patterns: displaced emotions, misperceptions, lagging social skills, bullying, impulsivity, and destructive peer relationships. Topics include: how stress impacts the brain and learning, factors that launch conflict into an ongoing cycle, listening and validation skills, the use of questions to increase self-awareness, and the stage so f effective intervention.
Course meets on the following days:
- June 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 2015
Course hours will be from 9a-3p with sign-in beginning at 8:30am on both days. Lunch will be on your own.

ABOUT THE HOST
Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families serves as a National Training Site for the LSCI Institute and maintains certified Senior Trainers on staff.
This course meets the qualifications for 30 hours of continuing education credit for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Licensed Education Psychologists (LEPs), and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCCs) as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families; Provider 2522).
Nurses: Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #CEP 15108, 30 hours.
CAADE: Provider approved by the California Association for Alcohol and Drug Educators, Provider #; CP10 914 C 1113 for 30 contact hours.
CYC-P: This course meets the qualifications for 30 hours of continuing education credit for Child and Youth Care Professionals (CYC-P) as required by the Child and Youth Care Certification Board. Content domain: Developmental Practice Methods
