There is no reason that .NET applications can't take advantage of the rich ecosystem available in Open Source.

Avi Cavale from Uhuru Software will offer tips and demonstrations of how applications written in .NET on Windows Servers can utilize Open Source services such as MySQL, RabbitMQ and MongoDB. He will be using the Uhuru AppCloud as the underlying Platform as a Service for his demonstrations.

With the right services and techniques .NET can be a great option even when developers want to use Open Source services.

About the presenter

Avi Cavale is the Director of Product Development at Uhuru Software. Prior to that he worked at Microsoft for 11 years in various roles, most recently as a Director on XBOX Live Engineering team.

He was a member of teams that shipped products like Kinect, Office 365, Live Meeting, Azure .Net and the first version of XBOX console.
