The Letterpress Studio at Baker Library is offering an opportunity to learn some fundamentals of letterform drawing through designing and printing pages of an alphabet book. During the evening series of workshop sessions, participants will receive intensive instruction in the drawing and integration of traditional letterforms with graphic translations of animal forms. The combined images will be handcut onto linoleum blocks and printed with a letterpress proofing press. Sessions will be held weekly on Wednesdays from 6 to 9 pm in Baker Library, room 21, starting February 5, and will be led by Won K. Chung. Materials and equipment will be provided without charge by the Workshop.

No experience is necessary but registration is required and will be limited to eight participants with priority given to Dartmouth students and previous Letterpress Intensive participants.

TO SIGN UP: Those interested in signing up should contact Won.K.Chung@Dartmouth.edu and mention any relevant graphic arts experience.
