We’re witnessing a paradigm shift: design innovation and experimentation is moving from research labs to the shelves. Consumers can increasingly influence, generate and spend their ways into the roles of researcher, inventor and funder. “Let’s Get Digital: New Models for Making” will bring together thought leaders from New York City’s design, fabrication and business worlds to discuss how new technologies – like personal 3d printers— and ways of doing business – like kickstarter launches and open source— are changing the relationship between consumers, designers and producers and redefining the City’s role in production.
