Lending Circles Information Session - SEATTLE
Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM (PST)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Dear friends and colleagues,
Mission Asset Fund (MAF) is coming to Washington state! We're a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco helping financially excluded communities become active, visible, and successful in the U.S. financial mainstream. Come join us for a presentation about MAF's Lending Circles and Lending Circles for DREAMers program and the success we've had serving low-income and recent immigrant communities. We'll also discuss our partnership model, which enables us to replicate our programs through community-based organizations and reach increasingly diverse communities.
Lending Circles are social loans based on the tradition of peer lending common in low-income communities around the world where a group of people lend and borrow money to each other on a monthly rotating basis. We gather the groups, provide financial education, and manage all transactions securely. In addition, we report all Lending Circles payments to major credit bureaus to help establish or improve credit scores. Lending Circles for DREAMers is aimed at supporting DREAMers paying for their Deferred Action application fees.
We started in the Mission District of San Francisco, and now we're proud to be expanding Lending Circles to Washington State with our first two partners - El Centro De La Raza and 21 Progress.
Come learn more about the programs and how you can work with us. Friends and colleagues welcome - please forward widely!
