Lénablou Dance Master Class

The Lénablou Dance Master Class is free and open to the public but space is limited!

Lénablou's work explores questions of identity, language, trauma, memory, and globalization through the body in movement. In 2007, she costarred in the documentary The Country Backwards, which received the Immaterial Heritage Award at the 31st Real Cinema Festival and the Guadeloupe Award at the Saint Barth’s Caribbean Cinema Festival.

The Lénablou Trilogie Dance Company has gained tremendous momentum internationally (Canada, Dominican Republic, France, French Guiana, Martinique, Mexico, Niger, Senegal, Slovenia, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela...) and will tour venues throughout Georgia in October 2013.  Their Atlanta area visit is co-sponsored by Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, the University of Georgia, the French Ministry of Art and Communication, the Regional Council of Guadeloupe French West Indies, Spelman College, the University of West Georgia, Emory University, and the Auburn Avenue Research Library.

See sponsors' websites for additional Georgia tour events with the Lénablou Trilogie Dance Company.

Program subject to change without notice.

Center for Collaborative and International Arts at Georgia State University

The Center for Collaborative and International Arts (CENCIA) is a research center in the College of Arts and Sciences at Georgia State University.  It brings together creative writers, visual artists, composers, musicians, filmmakers, and scholars engaged in arts-related research with scholars in disciplines across the academy.  CENCIA's primary mission of enriching campus and community life through engagement in the arts is changing the nature of research on campus by placing emphasis on connecting arts research to the public we serve.  Our overriding research concerns remain:  How does this arts research affect the community?  How does it affect our city and other cities?  How does it affect the world?

All CENCIA sponsored programs are free and open to the public.
