Event Details

Sometimes it seems like there is pleanty of time to teach our children about faith, life and everything else. After all, 18 years is a long time.

Except it isn't. It's only 936 weekends and the countdown is underway. At 7, you're down to about 500 weekends. At 12, there's only a few years before they get their liscence and many of those weekends will be spent apart from you.

What's your plan to help your child have a strong faith?

Legacy Milestones is our strategy to help parents be the primary faith trainer of their children. Our plan to help maximize the time you have.

During this summit we'll cover the intersection of church and family and take a look at how weekly Faith Talks help you navigate between the milestones. You'll also have a chance to choose between 4 breakouts covering material that is specific to the age of your child.

Daniel NottOur special guest, Daniel Nott will join us to share the story of how the church's partnership with his single mother changed his childhood and the ways that he has partnered with his church in turn. Daniel is a former Executive Director with AWANA international where he led the development of several programs including Puggles and High-Power Soccer as well as the recent redesign of the main Awana programs. Daniel is currenlty the managing Director of WhatIf and serves as a consultant to the Children & Youth Evangelism team at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

General Sessions:

Intersection of Church and Family - Two combined influences are stronger than two influences acting alone. Come and hear how the partnership of church and family can make a huge impact on the life of a child.

Growing in Faith at Home - Faith Talks are a key element to growing between Milestones. Hear key elements, how to come roadblocks, and examples of spending time as a family in God's Word. We'll also share about those informal times with God Sightings and Heart Talks.
Elementary and Below
Embracing the Story - During this session Pastor Jesse will cover Milestone 2, sharing how to help your child embrace your faith as their own and why scripture put focus on such things as doorposts and traditions.
Tween is not a four-letter Word - Tweens stand at the crossroads of church, family/parenting, and culture.  Join Daniel Nott as he talks about this incredibly strategic transition point in the life of a pre-teen. You'll hear ideas you can implement, what resources are available, and scripture to hold on to.

Adolesence and up
Rite of Passage - (Feel free to have Mark change this up) During this session Pastor Mark will cover Milestone 6, sharing how to help your child understand the importance of biblical Manhood and Womanhood and why it's important to mark this life transition. We'll also give you ideas for creating a rite of passage ceremony for your son or daughter.

Parenting by the Book - George Barna estimates that 75,000 books have been published in the past decade - that's a lot of information for moms and dads. Join Pastor Bob as he shares how to develop a biblical approach to parenting. You'll walk away understanding how to choose from all those books - and we'll even narrow the suggestions to two.
