Most of us look at data on the Internet and see... data. Not Jenny Odell and Carlo Abruzzese. For these local artists, data inspires them to create amazing works of visual art. Join us for an evening of talks, demos, DIY sake cocktails and making art with Ramekon O'Arwisters at Digital Garage's brand new coworking-event space in downtown San Francisco.

Space is limited. Register here: http://lbrb.eventbrite.com

Welcome to DG717, a brand new coworking space and event venue in downtown SF. The US headquarters of a high-end Tokyo-based technology firm Digital Garage, DG717 is designed as a place where people can connect through intellectual discussions, the love of fine art, and an appreciation for new technologies. Our first exhibit, East Meets West, celebrates the concept of intersections -- between the art world and the tech world, Japan and the United States, the left brain and the right brain. We curated a selection of the finest contemporary art from both sides of the Pacific in collaboration with top contemporary art galleries in Japan and the United States, including the Tomio Koyama Gallery in Tokyo and the Rena Bransten Gallery in San Francisco. East Meets West also features an original score created by Academy Award-winning composer Ryuichi Sakamoto and a custom-designed video installation from the MIT Media Lab.

Our opening event, LEFT BRAIN MEETS RIGHT BRAIN, will feature talks and demos by local artists Jenny Odell and Carlo Abruzzese, who use hard data from the Internet to create amazing works of visual art, and an interactive community art project with Ramekon O'Arwisters. Space is limited. Register here: http://lbrb.eventbrite.com
