Lecture Series: The Changing Face of the Mental Health Profession 

Join us in the third of a six-part lecture series as University of Phoenix faculty, Sheree Summers, LMFT, presents on current trends impacting community mental health. MFTs, LPCs, and LCSWs can earn continuing education units or practicum training hours, while other mental health professionals can earn training hours or professional development units as you gain insight into industry trends and collaborate with other industry professionals.  Future topics include school counseling, non-profit community agencies, prisons and military.  Lunch will be provided.

Highlights

Keynote Speaker Biography:

Sheree Summers, University of Phoenix faculty, is a Staff Development Officer and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with Riverside County Department of Mental Health. She has worked in the field of mental health for the past 8 years and has served in public mental health since 2007. She also has experience in inpatient chemical dependency programs, school counseling and career counseling. As a Staff Development Officer, Sheree trains several workshops including Recovery Management, Motivational Interviewing, Communication and Counseling, Professional Development, Recovery Model, Non-violent Crisis Interventions and other community presentations. In addition to training, Sheree coordinates two workforce development programs for RCDMH. The Graduate Internship, Field and Traineeship (GIFT) Program prepares graduate-level interns for work in public mental health. The Clinical Licensure Advancement and Support (CLAS) Program supports department pre-licensed clinicians in their journey toward state licensure.
