Instructor: Sarah Green


Summary: In this course, each student will learn the basics of leatherworking from Sarah Green of CORD shoes in order to produce a one of a kind leather bag.


Description: The course will cover the following topics:

- Design

-       Measuring and tracing

-       Basic fitting

- Fringing, embossing, and adornment

-       Awling and Handsewing

This is a two part course, with the first course occuring on Saturday, the second on Sunday. Class will run from 9:30 AM until 3:00 PM both days with a break for lunch.

 Either the Hand Stitched Wallet course or the Belts and Collars course are a prerequisite to this course, both courses are a prerequisite to take the bootmaking course.


Ticket Sales end two days before the event begins.

About the Instructor:

 Sarah was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. She attended Parsons School of Design in New York City, where she graduated with a degree in Architecture with a focus on Affordable Housing.


After graduating, Sarah worked in millwork shops. She lived in New Orleans from 2010-2012, working as a designer at an affordable housing non-profit, as well as working at several furniture shops.

Sarah returned to Atlanta to set up a small shoemaking shop in 2012. She spent 2013 in Doylestown, PA, working and studying under a master shoemaker before returning to Atlanta to officially launch Cord Shoes and Boots.

She recently won Creative Loafing's BEST Of Atlanta: Best Local Shoemaker.


Her courses also won Atlanta Magazine's BEST OF ATLANTA 2016: Best Unique Classes


 What sort of safety equipment is required?

Ear and Eye protection are required and will be available.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes, please notify us before ticket sales end about any transfer of puchase.


What is the refund policy?

We will refund any ticket requested for any reason up to a week before the course runs, after that point we can only give credit to a future course. No call, No show cancellations cannot be refunded, as the ticket price will be paid out to the instructor for their time. If the class cannot run as scheduled, for whatever reason, purchaser will have the option of a full refund or credit towards the makeup course.

Courses must sell a minimum of three tickets to run. If a course cannot sell three tickets, the students who have signed up will have the option to (a) reschedule (b) recieve a full refund. This notification will be issued when ticket sales end, approximately 48 hours before the course.
