Learning the Language of Birds
Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Saturday 3:00 to 8:00. A collection of skills and principles largely forgotten by modern people, Bird Language Knowledge has helped people survive and thrive for tens of thousands of years, and is now entering the scientific dialogue. Through this practice, people learn to walk with less impact and more conscious awareness. Jon Young’s newest book, “What the Robin Knows: How the Birds Reveal the Secrets of the Natural World,” reveals “deep bird language” as a way to foster enthusiasm for and connection with birds, wildlife, and conservation. Come join us beginning with a presentation on The Shapes of Alarms followed by an evening outdoor bird sit, mapping session, and debrief. Suggested donation: $25 per individual or $35 for a family or couple. Space is limited; contact firstname.lastname@example.org to register or for more info.
