Event Details

Drupal is a powerful open source web technology that allows users to create dynamic, flexible websites capable of filling all manner of needs. It’s like Legos for the web. Join us for our day-long intermediate Drupal workshop, where we will start swimming toward the deep end and walk through the steps of utilizing contributed modules to extend a Drupal-based, data-driven movie-listing site. (a la IMDB.com) This class is geared toward intermediate students; students that have at least some familiarity with Drupal or other CMSes. If you have installed Drupal before, know the difference between a Content Type and a Node, you shouldn't have any trouble. New users might be able to get up to speed too, but we've got a lot of ground to cover and won't have a lot of time for remediation.

The session will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, January 12th, where we will cover some extremely useful contrib modules like Pathauto, Entityrefrence, Auto Nodetitle, and more. We will break for lunch at noon. (Attendees are on their own for lunch; there are plenty of great places to eat in the area.) We will get back together at 1:30 PM and spend the rest of the afternoon covering the Views module and finish off with some Q&A, and general Drupal-related discussion.
