Learn Ruby 2011
Monday, January 17, 2011 at 6:30 PM - Monday, March 21, 2011 at 8:00 PM (CST)
New Orleans, LA
The goal of this class is to get you from wherever you are to a better than entry-level Ruby proficiency. The class is designed to serve those who have no programming experience as well as those who have some, or even a professional, level of programming experience. Two different texts are being recommended for this class, depending on your current programming skill level. Thanks to our sponsors, all books will be provided to each participant at no charge.
The class will be taught every Monday night starting on Monday, January 17th and continuing through Monday, March 21st (no class will be held Monday, March 7th). Class sessions will last an hour and a half with 30 minutes spent introducing and discussing concepts and the remainder spent exercising that knowledge. The course will require outside reading and practice, so don't sign-up unless you are committed to doing the work required. Besides learning the Ruby programming language itself, the course will also introduce participants to the Ruby community through its common tools, resources and practices.
All the funds collected for tickets are being donated to Gumbo Labs, the parent organization that supports Ruby Bayou throughout the year. So, please consider making a donation to support the work of Gumbo Labs.
