Learn about Donate Life in Hudson County, a volunteer group forthe NJ Sharing Network, which is a non-profit, federally designated organization responsible for the recovery and placement of donated organs and tissues for NJ residents in need of life saving transplants.
Donate Life is dedicated to educating our community about the importance of organ and tissue donation. Close to 5000 NJ residents are awaiting a life -saving transplant. In 2011, Hudson County was ranked the second lowest in the state for registering organ and tissue donors. The Volunteer group's activities consist of educational presentations, special projects, staffing awareness events, health fairs, faith based programs and implementing strategies to educate the diverse Hudson County Community on organ and tissue donation.
There are several county task force groups including Bayonne-Jersey City, Bergen, Essex, Newark, Passaic, Union, Middlesex, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean. Sussex and other areas in NJ. Certified Volunteer Training Available Opportunities include high school heroes program, college initiative program, hospital speaker program, motor vehicle ambassadors, field and periodic office assignments. Free training and optional locations, flexible hours and assignments.
