Event Details

This workshop is limited to the first 60 people who register in order to maintain an intimate learning environment.

Learn more in 3 days than most learn in 6 months.

Why do we do this workshop?

Because no business wants to waste time developing products and services that no one is going to buy. Therefore, it is necessary to learn to identify quickly when an idea has the potential to generate revenue and when is does not. Utilizing Client Development methodologies and the Lean Startup, in our workshop you will live the business ideas validating experience in three days.

Why should you attend?

We have successfully run this workshop in 50 cities including New York, San Francisco, London, Paris, and Toronto, among others. Around the world we have coached to thousands of people to change the process by which businesses, products and services are created. If you want to be a more agile business and to succeed faster and improve your business results, you should register today.

What will we do during Lean Startup Machine?
Over the course of three days you will do the following...
  • Work on a brand new problem or an existing project
  • Practice Customer Discovery
  • Research your Target Market
  • Practice Customer Development
  • Test your Assumptions in Iterations
  • Understand your Business Model
  • Iterate and Pivot (when necessary)
  • Create a Minimum Viable Product
  • Present your Validated Learnings
...and more
Who's this event for?

Executives, leaders and innovators in large, medium, and small businesses looking to innovate or create the next successful product or service.  Those who are inexperienced or experienced in Lean along with creatives, salespersons, marketers and decision makers can all be coached in the methodologies Lean Startup.
This is an intensive educational workshop, NOT a hackathon, where you will learn the tools to develop any new business concept.
Got an idea of your own? Great. You'll get a chance to tell the room about the problem you would like to solve. If your idea gets selected you will be able to form a team and start working.
No co-founder or team members? No problem. You'll meet many talented and smart people and have the opportunity to hear their new business ideas. Whatever idea you work on, you will learn many valuable skills that you can later apply to your own business. We kindly ask that you please do not show up looking for a technical co-founder...that's not the goal of this experience.
If you plan to work on an existing project*, bring at least one co-founder or team member with you to the event. If you have existing co-founders and none of them attend, you'll have to work on a new business idea. But don't worry, you'll still learn valuable skills that you can apply to your own business.
*An existing project is defined as one that already has mockups, prototypes or code associated with it. If that's the case, you cannot recruit others to join you. It is too difficult for participants to join a team that already has a specific vision, strategy or product in the works. We strongly encourage everyone who comes to LSM to start with a brand new concept.

Mentors and Speakers...
We bring together the TOP local startup mentors to teach, push you and challenge you throughout the weekend. They will teach you about customer development and customer segmentation, share insights into your market, tweak your messaging, look at your UX, and challenge your assumptions in just 48 hours.

Event Schedule...

Friday you will show up, eat pizza, meet mentors and network with fellow attendees. Those who come as individuals will pitch a problem they want to solve and we will form about 10 teams in total. At around 9pm you will start constructing your first experiment designed to test, empirically, your problem hypothesis and customer hypothesis. Teams will break for the night when they have a developed a provable hypothesis and have practiced their customer development skills with a mentor.

Saturday those assumptions will be tested with customers. Most of your assumptions will likely be WRONG, so you will iterate rapidly to validate a new set of assumptions. You will go through several Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), ranging from basic problem exploration, to product pitches, to landing pages, to concierge services that deliver on the product, each with varying/advancing degrees of opportunity cost.

At last, Sunday afternoon you will present your learnings to the other teams and to a jury. This is not just a learning exercise, you will actually be competing with other teams to win additional mentorship and support.
