Bummer! Sales have ended.
Unfortunately, tickets for this event are no longer on sale.
Maui Venture Consulting and the Hawaii High Tech Development Corporation are co-hosting an informal viewing of the Lean Startup Conference taking place simultaneously over two days in San Francisco. Please go to the Conference Program to see bios of the speakers and a detailed schedule. Simulcast is only on Monday!
This will be a fun way to meet entrepreneurs, investors, and technical service providers - including all of the above who pass through the Maui Tech Park.
The "Lean Startup" skills are becoming a broadly accepted approach towards developing new ideas, projects, and businesses both in the for-profit and non-profit world. All the presenters at the Maui Venture Forum on 11/16 were versed in the "Lean Startup" approach and we will likely use familiarity with this approach as a basic screening tool for future company presentations.
There are multiple ways to become familiar with this material including the "Lean Startup" book by Eric Ries and the free online class "How To Build A Startup" taught at http://Udacity.com by Stanford Professor Steve Blank. The conference simulcast will be a great way to get up to speed and develop your understanding of these business development methods while getting to know the Maui tech and business development community.
We need at least 10 people to sign up to go forward. Not everyone will need to be present all the time. We will work on a more detailed schedule and have it ready by the weekend. We expect to have lots of our onw discussions and break outs.
This is a FREE event. We will have coffee and hot water for tea. Otherwise this will be a potluck event. There is an excellent food truck nearby and of course lots of great restaurants in Kihei.
The simulcast will NOT be available online for individual viewing. Go to the conference site for other viewing locations.
Update - Sunday Evening - Looks like we will have 15+ people attending. If you are arriving before 8 a.m. (hopefully most of you) enter the Maui Research & Tech Center (Makai Building) via the middle or Tech Ohana Courtyard. Event is in the room on the ground level just to the left a you enter. Just learned that the simulcast is only on Monday. Sorry for my misunderstanding.
