The Holmby Park Lawn Bowling Club was established in 1927 and is the only lawn bowling club operating in the City of Los Angeles. Their 150 members come from 19 countries and span almost 60 years in age and on Saturday, May 11th, Hidden LA and Three Day Rule will take the greens!
Throughout the day you'll play 3 games, each game with new team members, which means you'll meet lots of new people. We'll provide instruction, a set of "bowls" per player, tournament coordiation and light refreshments. As this is a city-owned park, no alcohol is provided, but we won't be searching your water bottles.
Arrive promptly at 1:30PM for a quick tutorial. Tournament begins at 2PM. In true lawn bowling tradition, white attire is suggested. Hit up those thrift stores folks! No heels in the grass, so wear your flats, Sperry's, or just go barefoot! If you want more lawn bowling fashion inspiration, check out this link: Lawn Summer Nights
After party to follow from 5PM and onwards at Skylight Gardens in Westwood, with a special happy hour menu until 7PM! If you have friends who can't make it to lawn bowling, invite them to meet us out at Skylight Gardens after. The more the merrier!
Skylight Gardens is housed in an iconic Westwood building that has been open since 1933. Formerly Hamlet Gardens, it has been a celebrity staple, post-Fox Theater movie premieres for almost 100 years.
