1st ANNUAL LAUGHS FOR AUBREY
Laughs for Aubrey is a comedy benefit to celebrate the memory of Aubrey Elizabeth Colwell who was lost prematurely at 8 months on February 7th, 2010. The annual event is aimed at raising money each year for the March of Dimes.
Ryan and Kaileigh Colwell, started Laughs for Aubrey. They both believe that out of their heartache and tragedy they will work together to do everything possible so that other families do not have to endur what they have gone through. After realizing that Aubrey had a bigger purpose to serve rather then being with them, they wanted to make sure that her memory lives on each day. That is why each year they want to show families that no matter what happens in life, tragic or not, there is still time to laugh and smile. Aubrey has given the family so much strength and courage and they want to share their gifts with others and make sure that other families have the chance to live out their lives with their children and not have to say goodbye before they can say hello.
The show will feature nationally known comedian, Derrick Tennant from Atlanta, Georgia. Derrick's style of stand-up comedy has been described as "bleepfree." Most people think that comics that are clean aren't funny and funny comics aren't clean, but Derrick is changing that mentality. He has performed for clubs, colleges and organizations all over the country. After the show look for his top selling shirt, "You looked WAY better on Facebook!" Local talents Ryan Colwell and Tom Sanford will also be performing.
