Founded in 2009, Latinos in Tech Innovation & Social Media (LATISM) is a 501(c)4 nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to advancing the social, civic and economic status of the Latino community.
LATISM actively engages in digital communities to ensure that online discourse more accurately reflects the rich diversity of thought, heritage and culture in our changing society.
At the heart of Latinos in Tech Innovation & Social Media (LATISM) is a commitment to integral action for and by Latinos. We believe in community action and our mission is the manifestation of that commitment. Our mission is to empower our community in the areas of education, technology, health and business through tech innovation and social media.
LATISM seeks to equip our members with the tools they need to transform their communities by integrating community and networking resources that enable our members to make choices, take part in actions and decisions that affect their lives, and become agents for change.
Our annual conference is the point of encounter. It has become an epicenter for top experts and thought leaders in the health, technology, education and business industries to share best practices in the use of tech innovation and social media in the Hispanic community. Our conference attracts the top Latino(a) bloggers, tech entrepreneurs and social media influencers of the country. They all have a sense of mission and focus on using their influence for causes that are close to their hearts. Additionally, all our LATISM Chapter Directors come together for capacity building, strategic planning and to strengthen our core mission in order to be true stewards in theirs respective cities.
Regardless of the large numbers, our conference feels like a big family where hugs are the new black. Join us and you will see what we mean. Hasta pronto!
