Los Guerreros De La Musica

LGM is from the great city of Houston, Texas. In just a short amount of time, they have already made a significant impact on the Houston Latino music scene with their unique blend of Spanish Rock, Cumbia, Reggae, Ska, Second Line Jazz, Mariachi, Tropical, & Funk. This interesting fusion has a little something for everyone – especially those who like to dance!!

2012 was a great year for LGM! They won “Best Band” at the 2012 Conoco Phillips Rodeo Run in Downtown Houston, for the second year in a row LGM was a nominee for “Best Latin Band” at the Houston Press Awards, they got the chance to play at the legendary Miller Outdoor Theatre and at The Reliant Center, and LGM was chosen to be the featured artist live on Univision for Noticias 45 and on TeleFutura for Vive La Mañana!!

Just like its music, LGM is a unique blend of talented musicians. Co-founding member Jesus “Guero” Romero provides lead vocals along with the sexy sounds of his trumpet. The person responsible for getting Guero to break out of his shell and become not just a trumpeter but the singer he is today, is long-time friend and local hidden gem, Ms. Vanessa Alonzo. Vanessa has performed with some of the greatest Mariachi groups in the world, including with world-renowned, Mariachi Vargas and she has toured with multiple operas around the world including the first-ever Mariachi opera, To Cross the Face of the Moon/Cruzar La Cara de La Luna. Ms. Alonzo’s voice can only be compared to the sweet, sweet angels! Backing them up on vocals while burning up the guitar strings are brothers Lorenzo Antonio Guerrero (acoustic) and Alex Guerrero (bass). Bringing a unique twist to the band is Derek Tyler ripping it on lead guitar like it’s no one’s business. Simon Coffman on trombone rounds out the horn section with his tight hits and creative solos. Jose “Chapy” Luna amazes the crowd with the hypnotizing beat of his congas. “The Heartbeat” of the group is drummer extraordinaire Stephen Araujo on kit. And nominee for “Best Miscellaneous Instrument” at the the 2011 & 2012 Houston Press Awards is Mr. Sean Torres laying down that last little touch of flavor by mixing his crazy timbales chops with his vast array of Latin percussion, cymbals, and wind chimes.
