UC Berkeley, the Minerva Foundation and Leonardo/ISAST invite you to the next Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous, an evening of art and science presentations, chaired by Piero Scaruffi.
The evening includes four presentations of art/science projects, news from the audience, and time for casual socializing/networking. Free and open to the public.
7:00-7:25: Danielle Siembieda-Gribben (Visual Artist, Curator) on "The Future of Eco Art/Tech"
The evolution of the Eco Art movement has always borrowed from the sciences and social justice. How is Eco Art adapting to the growth of Green Engineering, CleanTech and Environmental Politics? Danielle Siembieda will explain how and why artists are using Art + Tech to save the planet.
7:25-7:50: Philip Marcus (UC Berkeley/Professor, Mechanical Engineering) on "ZOMBIE Vortices---Self-replication in the DEAD Zones of Stars"
7:50-8:10: BREAK. Before or after the break, anyone in the audience currently working within the intersections of art and science will have 30 seconds to share their work. Please present your work as a teaser so that those who are interested can seek you out during social time following the event.
8:10-8:35: Marion O'Leary (Stanford/Advancement Consultant, Department of Global Ecology; pianist; composer) on "Music and Science"
O'Leary will discuss the evolving interaction between his two passions: music and science.
8:35-9:00: Andrea Lingenfelter (poet, scholar, translator) on "TBA"

LASER (Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous) is Leonardo/ISAST's international program of evening gatherings that bring artists and scientists together for informal presentations and conversation with an audience.
Venue hosts include the University of San Francisco, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, University of Westminster in the UK and a New York studio.
