Lake McMurtry Trail Races 2013
Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 8:00 AM (CDT)
The Lake McMurtry Trail Race is proudly going into it's 15th year. The race was started in 1999 by Earl Blewett. Earl saw the beauty of Lake McMurtry with it's gorgeous scenery, soft, beginner friendly trail system, spectacular lake views and reputation for having some of the best trails in the state of Oklahoma for both running as well as mountain biking.
In 2009 Earl turned the race over to Tatur Racing It's new race director Ken Childress has done a fantastic job of keeping the quality, history and tradition of the Lake McMurtry Trail Race alive.
We are looking for 20 volunteers to help with the following activities:
We take having fun seriously ! Our greatest thrill is to turn runners on the the joys of running trails and ultras.
Since 2006 Tatur (Tulsa Area Trail & Ultra Runners) have grown from 12 original members to a club whose members number in the hundreds.
The club's reach is far and includes weekly trail training runs, classes, trail maintenance, trail marking, ultra marathon training groups, organized long runs, group trips to trail races around the country and as of 2011 Tatur is directly responsible for organizing over 14 races that include trail, ultra and some just plain whacky races.
