Five-time Grammy nominated master percussionist John Santos will give a lecture/demonstration of traditional and modern techniques and rhythms. He will also cover the historical evolution of these two Afro-Cuban percussive instruments and the wide world of music with which they overlap. Santos will analyze historic recorded examples from his legendary collection, offering the audience a chance to listen and discuss them.
This event is free and open to the public, however the middle and high school students in Community Music Center's Young Musicians Programs will be given priority seating.
