Welcome to the 1st Annual Los Angeles Natural Hair Care Expo. Experience all things about Natural hair care and holistic health; organic body & skin products, green living workshops, afro centric hair products,   accessories and fashions, styling demos with look and learn classes.

Whether you are Natural, Straight, Transitioning, wearing Hair extensions and Wigs, Gray, Thinning or Balding, Professional Cosmetologist, Barber,  Natural Stylist, Loctician or Consumers the LA Natural Hair Care Expo is designed to Educate, Demonstrate and give information on up to date Natural trends for you.

Our educators and panelist have been hand picked for you. They are leaders in the Nautral hair community worldwide, includes World known Felicia Leatherwood, Dr. Kari Williams, Titi Branch, owner of Miss Jessies, Dr JoAnn Cornwell, creator of Sisterlocs,Christelle Kedi (UK) Make up Artist of the Year, Africa / Europe Fashion Week and author, James Mac, Master award winnin Barber and top educator, stylist and entrepreneur, Sam Enon, founder Black Owned Beauty Supply Association with Workshops and Professional Classes from Norm Bond (Marketing Guru, Google, NAMD) and Jessyca Marshall, with an indept class on Microlocs ( maintenance and repair) for all who want to learn.

Entertainment and talks will continue throughout the day on the main stage. Three Pavilions include 1) Hair care and tips   2) Healthy living, nutrition   3) Culture with  IBH Film Series featuring international award winning short films including "My Nappy ROOTS" by film producer Regina Kimbell. THe Beauty Lounge will have classes all day on a 2nd stage designed for demos, tips and roundtable and panel talks.

The International Black HAiritage "State of the Natural Union" will be held at 11:30AM on Sunday Morning.  All are welcome who want to understand the state of the global economy and how Natural hair is becoming a key player in the Multi Cultural Ethnic hair care Industry.  How can this be an opportunity for the new entrepreneurs to start to build generation wealth for their family and community 

The Urban Bohemian Hair and Fashion Show caseand 'only' Natural Hair Competition" is a tribute to early LA Naturista Carina Chimdi Nwagbara.  Everyone is invited to the FREE Salsa and Naps After-Party starting at the close of the Expo@8:00 PM in the Hacienda Hotel

Is there Parking at he hotel?

The street parking is only $4 and very limited street parking.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

This is a family event, but because of the space, we will not be able to accomodate strollers this year. Adults

are $15 at the door, Children over 10 and seniors are $10.  Children under 10 are free. Queens and Kings over 75 years- only $5

LA Natural Hair Care Expo

Nappywood Weekend LA is a community empowerment weekend in Los Angeles August 1-4 2014.. The natural hair conversation is a plarform in which to discuss the entire issues of the entire community.  For the 2nd year we welcome the Evolution Tour to our signature show in Los Angeles

The Expo will focus on Natural hair education and holistic health. Classes will focus on how to maintain healthy hair and a well tuned bodyno matter the hairstyle. We will be introducing our consultations booth and the first Natural Pavilion 

International Black Hairitage Month established since 2011 in London, Hamburg, Berlin,Leeds, Brighton, Geneva & Paris. Since the inception of International Black Hairitage Month we have produced events in 6 countries reaching over 5 million people of Afro descent creating dialogue about identity, self esteem, health & hair education, economic empowerment and community. in August 2013 Nappywood La was created as our premiere USA event

 Los Angeles Natural Hair Care Expo  Co-Founders Gwen Allen, Regina Kimbell, both Los Angeles with The Evolution Tour of Malaika Tamu-Cooper of Dreadz and Headz, Baltimore.
