Since so many interesting speakers are going to be in town, we wanted to provide a preview to the conference.
We will have two excellent presentations:
MySQL 5.6 and Wokbench 6.1
Presented by David Stokes, Oracle
A quick insight about the latest and greatest MySQL from within Oracle itself.
David Stokes is a MySQL Community Manager at Oracle. He is a frequent speaker at numerous MySQL events and brings in the latest insider scoop on MySQL. David is also a head of the North Texas MySQL Meetup group.
Previously he was the MySQL Certification Manager for MySQL AB & Sun. He has worked for companies ranging alphabetically from the American Heart Association to Xerox. David has a MBA from the University of San Diego and lives in Texas.
David will also be hosting the MySQL booth at SCALE, so make sure you come check it out.
Practical MySQL Performance Optimization

Peter Zaitsev is a founder and CEO of Percona, the MySQL consulting company. He is arguably the world's foremost expert in MySQL performance and scaling, with a special expertise in hardware and database internals.
Peter is the author of the popular MySQL Performance Blog. He also co-authored High Performance MySQL book along with two other Percona experts. He is a frequently invited guest at open source conferences, and has been a sell-out speaker at the yearly MySQL User Conference since its inception.
This meetup will be held at the Oracle office in El Segundo at 200 N Sepulveda Blvd. We will be at the room # 4116 at the 20th floor.
Please note that anyone arriving after 6pm will have to be escorted upstairs by Oracle personnel. We will have someone in the lobby available till about 6:30pm. If you arrive later that that, please contact us at the following number: 415-484-3020 to have someone come and bring you up.
There is parking at the office building at 200 N Sepulveda Blvd. Unfortunately as of recently the building started charging $12 for visitor parking even after hours. If you prefer free parking, there is a commercial lot near Walgreens and few restaurants at the NW corner of Sepulveda Blvd and Grand Ave. Our members were parking there before.
