Our featured speaker is Rob Berman. Mr. Berman is a serial entrepreneur with experience in a broad variety of areas including finance, acquisitions, product development, intellectual property monetization, and direct response television. His current company, IP Dispute Resolution Corporation, focuses on new product development, and commercialization, licensing and monetization of intellectual property. Prior to that, Mr. Berman was the founder and architect of the patent assertion business for Acacia Research Corporation, a publicly traded company which, over the 7 years that Mr. Berman was at the company, increased its market cap from $20 million to over $400 million. Prior to joining Acacia, Mr. Berman held business development, and legal positions at National Media Corporation and QVC, where he assisted in the creation and marketing of products to be sold via direct response television. Mr. Berman began his career at the Philadelphia law firm of Blank Rome. Mr. Berman has been quoted in articles regarding licensing and patent enforcement in Forbes, The New York Times, Journal of Higher Education, C-Net, Los Angeles Times, USA Today, The Orange County Business Journal, and IP Law and Business, and is a frequent speaker at licensing programs including Harvard Law School. Mr. Berman received a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and a J. D. from Northwestern Law School, where he currently serves on the Law Board.
