Jon Udell

Jon Udell is an author, information architect, software developer, and new media innovator. His 1999 book,Practical Internet Groupware, helped lay the foundation for what we now call social software. Udell was formerly a software developer at Lotus, BYTE Magazine’s executive editor and Web maven, lead analyst at InfoWorld, and an independent consultant.

A hands-on thinker, Udell’s analysis of industry trends has always been informed by his own ongoing experiments with software, information architecture, and new media.

In January 2007, Udell joined Microsoft as a writer, speaker, and producer of another series of interviews called Perspectives. He is currently working on the elmcity project.

Steve Gillmor

Steve Gillmor is the editor of TechCrunchIT, producer of the Gillmor Gang and one of the technology industry’s most well-known and pervasive commentators and pundits. Gillmor contributed to various publications such as BYTE, InformationWeek Labs, and has worked as Senior editor of Fawcette Technical Publications, Editor in Chief of Enterprise Development Magazine, and Editor in Chief and Editorial Director of XML and Java Pro Magazines.

Gillmor later joined InfoWorld Magazine as Test Center Director and back-page columnist. He also served as Editor of eWEEK.com’s Messaging & Collaboration Center and OpEd columnist of eWeek’s print publication. As blogging emerged, he wrote the first blogs for Ziff Davis Media, CMP’s CRN, and CNet’s ZDNet, where he remains a contributing editor. A podcasting pioneer, he developed and hosted the seminal Gillmor Gang podcast with industry notables such as Jon Udell, Dan Farber, Mike Arrington, Jason Calacanis, Michael Vizard, Doc Searls and others. Gillmor has also championed development of industry standards, most notably as co-creator of the attention.xml specification and co-founder of the Attention Trust, a non-profit organization to protect user data rights.


Dr. Phil Windley, Founder and CTO of Kynetx, Inc., Dr. Windley is an  author and speaker on digital identity, web architectures, web services, and interoperability. He writes the popular Technometria blog and is the author of the book Digital Identity. Windley is also an Executive Producer of IT Conversations, a popular network of technology podcasts.

 Steve Spencer

Steve Spencer was named “One of the state's hottest and brightest business leaders under the age of 40” Utah Business Magazine. Steve has created and grown a variety of successful tech companies.  Examples include: dotOne, where as CTO, he helped grow and sell the company for $52m dollars, Mediaport, where as CTO, he and his team won the 2002 Utah State Entrepreneurial Challenge, Twelve Horses, where as President & CTO, he helped grow the company to become one of the “Top 30 Innovative Companies in Utah” as stated by Utah Business Magazine (2009). Most recently he successfully merged Twelve Horses into One to One Interactive in 2009, where he currently serves as SVP of Strategic Technologies, and the Director of One to One for the Western United States.

Craig Burton Craig Burton is a co-founder of Novell where he served as Senior Vice President of corporate marketing and development. In 1989, he co-founded the technology analysis and consulting company, The Burton Group where he served as CEO and principal analyst. Craig currently speaks, advises and consults with technology companies around the world, specializing in the Internet Services Model and software infrastructure sales and marketing.
