As a member of Kadlec Neurological Resource Center’s community of donors, you have helped your family, friends, and neighbors who are affected by neurological disorders. On behalf of those who have benefitted from KNRC’s resources and programs throughout 2013, thank you!
KNRC programs affect the lives of approximately 10,000 in our community. Educational program and conference attendance reached 2325 this year. Support group attendance has reached 966 so far this year. The NeuroTransmitter enjoys a readership of more than 5,000 individuals, and keeps you informed about upcoming events, support group news, and new library additions.
It’s a challenge to capture and convey the help that KNRC provides to those we serve each year. We help those with new diagnoses of MS or Parkinson’s, those who have recently had a stroke or suffered a traumatic brain injury, those striving to provide the children in their families and in their classrooms the most current research and most helpful tools for coping with autism, those providing care for a spouse with a neurological disorder, for adult children with a parent who has Alzheimer’s or a related dementia, and so many others. We also help long-distance caregivers, such as the woman who shared the following:
My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. KNRC's resources helped me educate my stepfather, in his late 80's, in how to be a caregiver for her. He's a bit stubborn, so this was no small feat! Because they live in another state, KNRC helped me learn how to be a long-distance caregiver, and for me to put together a care partnership with my three siblings. The brochures you have showing the different stages of dementia, as well as my attending the Caregiver's Conference with Teepa Snow, were EXTREMELY helpful in our family being able to establish a plan.
The funds we raise go directly to providing cutting-edge educational programs and resources in our community!
As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kadlec, KNRC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that must raise funds to provide our programs.
We hope you will continue to support KNRC programs in the coming year. Please renew your membership and consider increasing your level of support. The enclosed membership form includes an option for you to make a monthly, quarterly or annual pledge.
Life is a journey. Will you continue to help Kadlec Neurological Resource Center help those in our community affected by neurological disorders navigate their journey?
