"People have demonstrated their aptitude for good so much more than evil in this sort of situation. Thank you so much” – Henry Schmidt
Knitter, fiber artist, cyclist, math and physics major and Los Angeles native Henry Schmidt was involved in a hit and run accident early in the morning of August 17th in Portland Oregon. Found in the street by two good Samaritans, Henry received 2 broken legs, a broken shoulder, three fractured vertebrae, fractured cheekbone, internal injuries and more.
Knitters, crocheters and fiber-folk are a tightly knit group. We like to take care of our own. Henry was raised and has family here in Los Angeles. A drive is under way to help cover medical costs. Henry saw some of the worst people have to offer when he was left alone, frightened and badly injured on a dark street. Now we've got an opportunity to show him some of the best in people. Let’s contribute to Henry’s indomitable spirit.
