About Kings County Tennis League
Since 2010, KCTL has been serving the Bed-Stuy neighborhood kids to free tennis lessons every Saturday as a way to provide positive mentoring and community-building. Our dedicated volunteers oversee a competitive environment centered on positive communication to teach the kids skills that go beyond the court.
What started out as the Marcy Tennis Club has expanded to three additional sites at Tompkins, Lafayette Gardens and Sumner residential houses--all under the new umbrella name, Kings County Tennis League. Our mission to Bring Tennis to the Kids is in full swing this season as we work with over 100 kids each Saturday.
When & Where
Kings County Tennis League
At Kings County Tennis League, our mission is to use tennis as an instrument for mentorship and community building in Brooklyn. We literally bring free tennis lessons to kids in NYC public housing. 2014 is our 5th season, and we serve over 120 kids at four locations.
