Join us at Photoville, NYC (http://www.photovillenyc.org/) with Conveyor Arts (http://blog.conveyormagazine.org/about)
Zines are an exciting part of the photography scene right now. They are lo fi publications - often homemade - that are unlimited and unconventional in subject matter. Conveyor Arts' Zine Workshop invites kids and teens to participate in this exciting outlet of creativity by making their very own zine.
Conveyor will provide blank booklets, scissors, glue sticks and variety of photographic images for participants to use in their project. You are also welcome to bring your own images to use!
The workshop will focus on sequencing images and finding unique ways to integrate them into the book format. Once the zine is complete, participants will get a chance to share their project with the rest of the class. And then bring it home for keeps!
About CONVEYOR ARTS
Conveyor Arts is an organization dedicated to supporting photographic-based artists through production, exhibition and publication of new work in the medium. We also run an imprint that puts out a variety of artist publications each year, including Conveyor Magazine, a semi-annual publication dedicated to eliminating the hierarchy between emerging and established artists.
The magazine includes a series of new photography projects, interviews, articles and essays by writers and artists who strive to bring new ideas on photography to light.
All of our publications are lovingly produced in-house at Conveyor Arts.
Photoville (photovillenyc.org) is a new Brooklyn-based photo destination - a veritable village of freight containers transformed into temporary exhibition spaces, taking place this summer from June 22 to July 1, 2012.
Photoville will feature a feisty mix of exhibitions, lectures, hands-on workshops, nighttime projections, a photo dog run, a camera greenhouse, and a summer beer-garden with food trucks that will create a photography destination like no other.
