Country music for the whole country...
"I'm a champagne glass filled with a shot of Jim Beam"
Kerri grew up in a small town in Wisconsin listening to her grandparents classic country records at their cabin on the lake. She remembers singing along with Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline. As she grew older she became interested in sports—basketball in particular—but music and singing never left her heart. In fact, at the AAU basketball nationals at Drake University in Iowa, the sound system went out and they couldn't play the national anthem. Kerri's basketball coach said "we have a singer," and Kerri, without a second thought, walked out to the court in her uniform and sang the national anthem before the game.
Kerri eventually moved to New York City to attend a music and acting school. While going to school she made money on the side by modeling for various magazines including Redbook and Woman's Day as well as gracing the pages of O Magazine and the New York Post.
Eventually she met singer/songwriter Craig Wilson and they started writing and playing shows together in New York.
To date, they have played shows all over the country in venues such as Hard Rock Cafe Boston, Highline Ballroom NYC, and Opry Mills in Nashville TN. They have shared stages with major label artists such as Laura Bell Bundy, Tyler Farr and Colt Ford. Currently, Kerri is recording her debut album for release later this year.
Kerri Leigh is the perfect blend of a sweet, midwest country girl mixed with the tough and determined attitude of a life lived in New York City. Kerri Leigh is the future of country music… country music for the whole country.
