Event Details

Grab your dictionaries and get ready to attend the Kenosha Literacy Council’s 15th Annual Corporate Spelling Bee on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Best Western Harborside Inn. We are very excited to bring this year's Bee to downtown Kenosha!

The Spelling Bee is our biggest fundraiser of the year! 100%o f the proceeds from the Spelling Bee support KLC’s English literacy programs. Teams from local organizations and businesses enjoy good-natured competition while raising much-needed funds for KLC. The Spelling Bee is a spectator sport with up to twelve teams of adults competing against each other in elimination rounds until the winning team is left. The 2013 defending champions are the Johnson Bank “Spell Cheques” who defeated all the other teams in a friendly battle of words.

Come cheer on your favorite team and enjoy all that the Bee has to offer. There will be delicious hors d’oeuvres, desserts and a cash bar. Other activities include a silent auction with a wide variety of baskets and gift certificates, a raffle, as well as a trivia contest for the audience. Don't BEE late!

Kenosha Literacy Council

Established in 1965, the Kenosha Literacy Council (KLC) is a nonprofit agency dedicated to providing English literacy education to adults with the assistance of trained volunteers. Literacy is a fundamental ingredient in building strong families, a good economy and a healthy community. Adults need to know how to read, write, and speak in English so they can participate in the workforce and earn wages that support their families and communities. Learn more at
