Singer/Philosopher Kenny Claiborne performs with his group Radio Marigny. Kenny is one of the creators of the music scene on Frenchmen St, having lived and performed in the neighborhood since the late 1980's. In the months following Hurricane Katrina, Kenny remained at his home playing music over loudspeakers powered by a generator. It became known as Radio Marigny and was a symbol of life in a partially abandoned city. He doesn't play gigs more than a quarter mile from his house so we're lucky that The Mint happens to fit the parameters. As an entertainer, Kenny strings together clever original songs with crowd pleasing favorites. As a philosopher he challenges the audience to consider it's relationship to the music and the band. Join us and give some inspiration to the band as they create a live recording.
