Fans, analysts, and front offices today continue to celebrate the progress of sports analytics on the field. Slowly, business analytics are starting to make headway off the field with particular emphasis on fan engagement, the focus of last year’s conference. This year, we build on that framework to understand how innovation in a variety of mediums strategically builds loyalty and interest from corporate sponsors and fans, and more importantly, increases the larger value proposition for all stakeholders. How are leagues, teams, networks and other sports organizations keeping fans and sponsors engaged both within and outside of the stadium? That will be the focus of this year’s conference: “Re-Defining Growth: Leveraging the Latest Innovations to Capture Fan Value.”

The first panel, “More than Just a Stadium”, will revolve around the latest in-game innovations, technologies, and challenges in the current market. Questions addressed will include: how are leagues and teams incorporating better mobile technology to create a more robust fan experience? How are corporate sponsors challenging the status quo with more innovative targeting and segmentation to fans while they move around the stadium? How are food and entertainment options changing? Why should the fan even bother to attend a game given the quality of the at-home experience?

The second panel, “Emerging Players in the Sports Arena”, will explore the opportunities for trending sports organizations to capture media, fan, and sponsor dollars. How have companies such as USA Rugby, X-Games and more attempted to penetrate the sports audience? How does such a league even begin? What are the challenges to overcome? Furthermore, the sports apparel market is quickly emerging as a significant player in the sports business realm. What are the latest innovations and trends on the apparel side?

Building on the success of last year’s lunch workshop, this year’s audience members will again have the opportunity to engage in a lunch & learn presentation. The half-day conference will wrap up with a networking session after the lunch & learn.
