It is our pleasure to invite you to the 7th International Festival of Kalinga Arts and Culture at the Holiday Inn San Francisco International Airport, San Francisco, CA on August 15-17, 2014. With the theme “Remember, Celebrate and Re-envision”, the “AMUNG” or gathering aims to remember Kalinga pioneers who have traveled to Northern America and continued to share and to educate the second-generation Kalinga-Americans on the traditional arts and culture.
The three day event commences with a Friday night reception (Holy Child and St. Martin Episcopal Church) and the crowning of the winner of the Little Ms. KaNA popularity contest. On Saturday, August 16, concurrent adult and youth workshops on traditional dances, musical instruments and songs, weaving and beading will be led by experts in the field. The Saturday gala night will be a night of good food, dancing and cultural entertainment and will feature a performance by the participants of the dance and music workshops. The event culminates with a Sunday picnic at Junipero Serra Park (Meadow View Picnic Area) with demonstrations of Kalinga traditional games and Cordillera dances.
