When & Where
Thompson Films was founded in 2010 by Katie Shannon, a Boston native and 2009 graduate of Emerson College, as a vehicle to produce and direct the projects she's most passionate for. Most recently, Shannon created 617 The Series, a comedic web series that chronicles the lives of six twenty-somethings in Boston and features rapper turned actor Slaine (The Town, Gone Baby Gone, Killing Them Softly) and Chris "CT" Tamburello of MTV's The Real World. 617 has reached over 20,000 views on YouTube and continues to grow as it prepares to shoot a third season. Recently, Thompson Films produced its first feature-length documentary, 113 Days, which chronicled the Stonehill Women's Lacrosse team's 2012 season. Three short films have received recognition at some of the leading LGBT film festivals across the world, whose community Shannon is an active advocate for. Production is about to begin on Thompson Films' latest web series, K & A, a comedic take on the relationship of two best friends whose disfunctional, codependent, drinking and drug-taking relationship impedes them from ever finding someone special in their lives besides each other.
