Business Imperative: Pivot or Die
Making strategic, tactical, and even fundamental change to a business is a requirement if it is to have long-term success, stay healthy and remain relevant. This process is sometimes referred to as "pivoting."
Pivoting involves being innovative and receptive to significant change regarding the direction of the company. This innovation may include product development, market evolution, cultural change within the company, and organizational realignment, among others.
Scott Jarus, a serial entrepreneur and "turn-around guy" for the past 30 years, will share his experiences in pivoting the businesses he has helped manage and run. His career in telecommunications exposed him to catalclysmic changes in technology, markets, regulations, business operations, and financial fundamentals.
All successful companies have had to pivot and, in many cases, multiple times. Join Scott and Larry Kutcher, TCVN Executive Committee member, for an interactive presentation and discussion about pivoting and its importance to your business for long-term success.
Scott Jarus is a serial entrepreneur whose career over the past twelve years has been to "fix" broken companies by re-aligning fundamental business objectives, strategies, operations, and organizations. During this period, the companies he has run have created over $1 billion in additional value to investors and shareholders. He was named 2005 National Entrepreneur of the Year for Media/Entertainment/Communications by Ernst & Young, and has lectured frequently at several university business schools, including UCI. He is an angel investor, a member of the Board of Directors of a number of public and private companies, and has been a coach, mentor and judge for the TCA Fast Pitch and LA Social Venture Partners Innovation Fast Pitch competitions.
Larry Kutcher serves as COO, CFO, and CIO to early-stage and emerging growth companies, providing strategic, operational, and technology leadership and services. Bridging entrepreneurial strategy and operational execution, Larry works with founder-owners, CEOs and senior management to transition their businesses through successive stages of growth while leveraging the strengths of their culture. His integrative-operational approach complements the vision of the entrepreneur and creates a foundation for sustained growth.
