Weekly Job Club for Veterans, facilitated by Veteran Job Coach. Topic for this week will be "Preparing for Inteviews" followed by Networking opportunity for participating Veteran job seekers to share their job search focus and sharing of information and contacts.
Participants are asked to arrive by 9am, with the job club starting at 9:15am, with an end time of Noon.
Details (Subject to Change):
845-900: Arrive at National Able Network.
►Ensure you arrive in enough time to check in with security before 9am. All clients will be picked up at 8:55 am, not before.
900-915: Meet and Greet (coffee and water will be provided)
►Meet with facilitator, grab coffee, and informally discuss career goals.
915-1015: Presentation by Facilitator
►Job Club lead facilitator will discuss concepts that expand on ideas from Job Readiness training, based on the theme for the scheduled Job Club.
►The hour will begin with a review of current approaches to resume writing that expand on knowledge from other training sessions and give you the chance to work one-on-one with another professional.
►Other topics may be covered on a needs/request basis.
►Job club participants will have an opportunity to network with other job seekers, practice their elevator speech, and share job leads with guidance from the session facilitator.
►Format is subject to changed based on needs and consensus of the group.
1200- : Conclusion
►The Facilitator will conclude the events and leave each participant with ideas for next steps.
►Following the Job Club, interested participants will have access to National Able Network’s Computer Resource Center.

B. a DD214 (member 4) or NGB22
C. a copy of your current resume
D. a copy of 1 to 2 job descriptions of positions that you are currently seeking
★Veterans Forward at National Able Network offers a to-the-point Job Club every Thursday from 9am - Noon. This event is facilitated by Veterans Career Coach Bob Menard, who is a retired Navy officer and recently retired from his position as a training manager at Sears. Topics will change from week to week.
★Job Club at National Able Network was revamped in May of 2014 by the Veterans Forward team as a means of expanding on ideas from training and for bringing the veteran job seeking community together in a peer discussion format. Job Club is led by Bob Menard, a Training and Development Professional with 20+ years in training management and senior leadership in the US Navy. If you would like to suggest a topic, please contact us with your ideas.
