For anyone who could not make our earlier dates, this is a make-up orientation we are providing so that you can still volunteer with us.
This orientation will give you an overview of our partnership with the City of Oakland and train you in how to be a successful volunteer at a library site. In order to serve summer lunches, you must attend this orientation first! Please bring your lunch.
Our goal is to serve 15,000 meals this summer. We're so grateful that you want to help us accomplish this!
When & Where
Alameda County Community Food Bank
Our mission is to alleviate hunger by providing nutritious food and nutrition education to people in need, educating the public, and promoting public policies that address hunger and its root causes. We are the hub of a vast collection and distribution network that provides food for 275 nonprofit agencies in Alameda County. In 2011, the Food Bank distributed 20.9 million pounds of food – 54% of it fresh fruits and vegetables.
