For July, we're mixing things up a little. Our regular monthly meeting will include a 45-minute "Intro to Air Sealing" presentation by Terry Nordbye. This will be followed by an extended 2 hour, hands-on workshop.
Regular meetings are FREE for members (PHCA membership available online here), $5 for supporters, $10 guests and visitors. The extended hands-on workshop is $40 for members (supporter or professional) and $60 for non-members, but includes the regular meeting. Registration for the extended workshop is REQUIRED and can be registered for below.
About our Presenter: Terry Nordbye
Terry Nordbye has worked as a contractor in California for over 35 years. He is a long-time PHCA member, certified PH tradesperson, author and veritable air-sealing expert. Over the past five years Terry has served as both contractor and air-sealing consultant on numerous Passive House projects, including Blue I & II in Point Reyes Station, the first affordable Passive House projects in California. Terry is well known for his articles, presentations and experiments on air sealing that give usable and applicable information to the building industry. The Journal of Light Construction and Home Energy Magazine have published his articles. Presentation attendees particularly appreciate Terry’s witty T-shirt slogans and techniques for maintaining jobsite air-tightness. More than just tapes and caulks, Terry delves into the energy, health and durability benefits of tight building construction. As a bonus, Terry will be bringing in his interactive set-up so you can test your hand at effective air sealing.
The extended ‘post-presentation’ workshop is ideal for anyone in design and construction, including architects, consultants, owners and contractors.
