Shakespeare’s great political thriller portrays the life-and-death struggle for power in Rome. Envious of the charismatic Caesar and his ambitions, a faction of politicians plot his assassination. After Caesar is killed, chaos consumes Rome. Julius Caesar investigates the turbulent nature of power and the ethics of those who wield it. For Seattle Shakespeare Company's touring shows, the small-cast ensemble plays multiple parts with quick changes and distinctive character choices that make for a showcase of great acting.

When & Where
Seattle Shakespeare Company
Founded in 1991, Seattle Shakespeare Company presents year-round productions of classical plays. In our indoor home at the Seattle Center, we produce a season of play by Shakespeare and other classic authors. During the summer our free, outdoor Wooden O productions tour to parks in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. Our nimble state-wide touring productions feature 90-minute versions of Shakespeare’s works that play in schools and other venues. Our innovative education programs include school residencies, workshops, classes and camps during school breaks.
We believe that the plays of William Shakespeare and other classic playwrights are timeless works that cross social and cultural boundaries. With their rich themes and wide gallery of characters, these plays examine the full breadth of human experience: love, jealousy, loyalty, leadership, passion, vengeance, romance, ambition, and humor. Within these time-tested works are insights that continue to sing to contemporary audiences, and that is why we believe our region deserves a theatre committed to first-rate, professional productions of Shakespeare and the classics.
