SSIS 2012 introduces several new enhancements to improve performance and productivity. In this session, Jose will do an overview and demo of the top 10 most important features introduced in SSIS 2012 including new development, deployment, management, and troubleshooting features. In this demo, you will learn how to create the SSISDB Catalog, setup environments and project parameters, deploy SSIS projects using the new Project Deployment Model. Jose will also overview the bult-in reports to analyze package execution history and execution performance.


Jose Chinchilla is a Microsoft Certified Database Administrator and Business Intelligence Architect, President of Agile Bay, Inc. a full-service IT consulting firm specializing in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing. Jose has developed expertise developing Data Warehouses and BI solutions utilizing the full Microsoft BI stack including SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, PowerPivot, Power View, Performance Point, MDS, DQS and more. Jose is co-author of two books: SQL Server Bible 2012 and Professional SQL Server 2012 Administration. He serves as President of the Tampa Bay Business Intelligence User Group and as Regional Mentor for PASS Southeast Chapters. Our meetings are free and open to the public. The doors open at 6:00 pm and food arrives shortly after that allowing time to grab something to eat and networking with your peers. This is a secure building so you will need to check in with the guard before proceeding upstairs. The meeting will start at 6:30 with announcements and open floor discussions followed by the speaker for the night.
