Event Details

The 2nd Annual Roast and Ride is a big pig roast to rally around Republican candidates on August 27th in Des Moines. The Roast and Ride is a fun-filled event for the entire family.

This JONI PAC fundraiser starts with an optional motorcycle ride in honor of our veterans and patriots, followed by a family fun pork roast. It’s going to be a great time for families to grab some barbecue, enjoy a summer day, listen to the Nadas and hear from conservative leaders from Iowa and across the country.

FAQs

Can I attend the Ride or the Roast, but not both?

Yes. No ticket is required to attend the kickoff of the Ride but a ticket is required to participate in the Ride and enter the Roast at the Fairgrounds.

Does my ticket allow me to attend both the Roast and the Ride?

Yes, a ticket allows you to participate in the Ride if you choose to do so, and to attend the Roast. A ticket also gets you free BBQ, a chance to hear from local and national leaders, and free entertainment by the Nadas.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

The event is open to all ages, however everyone planning to participate in the motorcycle ride must have a valid motorcycle license.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is plenty of parking available at both sites, however attendees must arrange their own transportation between Big Barn Harley-Davidson and the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

Is handicap parking available?

Handicap parking will be available at both Big Barn Harley-Davidson and the Fairgrounds. Follow the ADA parking signs when you arrive, volunteers will be on-site to assist you.

What can/can’t I bring to the event?

All attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to the Fairgrounds. The event will take place outdoors, mostly on paved surfaces.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes, you can transfer your ticket via Eventbrite in advance of the event.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, you do not need to bring your printed ticket however it will expedite the check-in process if you do.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn’t match the attendee. Is that okay?

Yes, unless you are riding in the motorcycle ride, your name does not need to match the name on the ticket.

What time does the program begin at the Roast?

Gates open at the Fairgrounds at 11:30AM with the Nadas performing around Noon. Speeches will begin around 1:00PM and conclude around 3:00PM.

What happens if it rains?

The Roast and Ride will take place rain or shine. A covered venue at the Fairgrounds has been reserved in case of poor weather.
